Our Specials
Beyond the core subjects, every GCA student grows through weekly enrichment that develops the whole child.
Music and Movement
A music and movement class is provided once a week for all GCA Preschool and Elementary students. The elements of music (rhythm, melody, harmony, form, style, and expression) are introduced through age-appropriate performing, moving, creating, and listening. All types of music are used, including folk, classical, patriotic, and Christian.
Spanish (Preschool 3, Pre-K 4, and all Elementary)
This class offers an introduction to Spanish using games, songs, and other activities. All elementary students use the Bob Jones University curriculum. Students learn basic Spanish, listen to the gospel in Spanish, and study Spanish-speaking countries around the world, an innovative, engaging approach to language and culture.
Art (Pre-K 4 and Elementary)
Our structured art class uses the ABEKA curriculum. Students enjoy 37 projects in this age-appropriate program, developing manipulative skills through coloring, painting, tracing, drawing, cutting, and gluing with a variety of materials. From a George Washington hat in February to an Easter cross in March, the monthly themes give students projects to enjoy and proudly display, all correlated with academics, Bible teaching, and the seasons.
Physical Education (Pre-K 4 and Elementary)
Students attend P.E. once a week for a variety of physical activities that teach skills and promote lifelong active lifestyles.
The preschool and elementary years are where the love of learning begins. Our goal is for every student to develop that love of learning and grow well-balanced: academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
